Sony HDR-AS50 Action Cam

3.5
Verdict: Sony's Action Cam range is pretty diverse, ranging from the entry-level AS20 all the way up to the 4K-capable X1000V. The HDR-AS50 sits just above the former, but it's still firmly at the cheaper end of the line-up.
Pros: Long battery life, Still image quality is good, Decent companion app, Removable battery, Solid construction
Cons: Mediocre video quality, Only one adhesive mount included, Heavy in its waterproof case, So-so low-light performance

Great camera, awesome features, fantastic video

4.0
Verdict: I've been a Contour fan for years, but with Contours rebirth they didn't seem to come out with any new cameras with better capabilities. All they did was repackage an older unit as "New and Improved.

cannot buy replacement parts

5.0
Verdict: So the camera is pretty good - the quality is good, it is easy to use and the app is not too bad. Now the problem with all of this is that if anything on it breaks, especially the hard outer casing you cannot buy replacement parts.

Sony HDR-AS50

4.0
Verdict: I've had this Sony Action Camera for about a week and use it motorcycling. Getting used to it, its options, and trying different mounts. I think I'm going to like it and the videos look pretty good. Over coming vibration is a challenge.

Frustrating

4.0
Verdict: Bought the camera 2 months ago for a holiday that I'm due to go on soon. Video audio does not work via 3 different iOS products that I have tried from day 1. Despite numerous calls with Sony, and sent back for repair once, no resolution in sight.

Water proof case cannot have holes!

5.0
Verdict: In response to the comment of the case not having holes for the mic., well, it wouldn't be waterproof if the case that allows the camera to be waterproof had holes...don't you think
