Sony HDR-AS50 Action Cam

3.5
Pros: Long battery life, Still image quality is good, Decent companion app, Removable battery, Solid construction
Cons: Mediocre video quality, Only one adhesive mount included, Heavy in its waterproof case, So-so low-light performance
Verdict: Sony's Action Cam range is pretty diverse, ranging from the entry-level AS20 all the way up to the 4K-capable X1000V. The HDR-AS50 sits just above the former, but it's still firmly at the cheaper end of the line-up.

Sony Hdr-As50

4.0
Verdict: Nice little camera, had it a good few months now having previously used several go pros. Does a very similar job at a much smaller expense, not half as much accessories available unfortunately but overall a nice handy camera.

great features

5.0
Verdict: I bought this by mistake on-line. I was wanting just an ordinary video camera and albeit being a very good product, it was not what I wanted. I contacted my supplier and they were really helpful and changed it for me. If you are looking for this type of product you cannot go wrong with this one.

Great footage, easy to use!

4.0
Verdict: We bought this product because of its ability to go up to 60 meters under water, in preparation for our upcoming scuba trip. We've been testing it out snorkeling and the images are fantastic, clear and bright. It is very easy to use as well. Great purchase.

4.0
Verdict: I bought the action cam and used it within a few days - it is easy to use and the quality appears to be good. Unfortunately the same can't be said for the waterproof housing and seal, the camera is now dead due to seal issue after full empty housing test etc.

Water proof case cannot have holes!

5.0
Verdict: In response to the comment of the case not having holes for the mic., well, it wouldn't be waterproof if the case that allows the camera to be waterproof had holes...don't you think?

Pros and Cons versus the Sony HDR-AS200

4.0
Verdict: ThisSony HDRAS50 is not quite as good ad the Sony HDR-AS200. As far as I'm concerned this is more of an entry level action cam than the Sony HDR-AS200 yet it costs the same. If I were to do it again I would get the HDR-AS200. This one doesn't have GPS built in.
