3.9
Pros: Massive 63.3x zoom lens
Cons: Poor electronic viewfinder quality, CCD streaking artifacts on movies, No Photo Creativity modes, No customisation options, No 1080p full HD video, Limited Picture Effects, No Wifi
Verdict: The Sony Cyber-shot H400 is a bridge super-zoom with a massive 63.3x optical range. Launched in February 2014 alongside the 35x H300, these models join the H200 released at the beginning of the year to form a budget range below the more impressively-equipped HX range.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H400 review

3.0
Pros: Pinch yourself, a 63x optical zoom for under £250! Solid and weighty build, standard manual features alongside fully automatic operation
Cons: Bulky, video resolution limited to a maximum 1280x720 pixels, no hotshoe for accessory attachment, small and pokey electronic viewfinder, non-rotating LCD screen, soft images shooting handheld

Sharp quality pictures

5.0
Verdict: I have just printed my first pictures and have been delighted by the sharpness of the image. As a novice I have only used the camera in auto mode but have been pleased with the early results. Supplied documentation could be more generous for me but is probably adequate for a seasoned photographer.

Slow. Get What You Pay For.

5.0
Verdict: I have been using the Sony H400 camera for over a month now. I replaced a Canon Powershot S1, that had a 10x optical zoom vs this Sony camera's 63x optical zoom. Still shots come out pretty good. But actions shots are another thing.

Verdict: I received the Sony DSC-H400 as a gift for Easter 2016. I was happy initially with it as a great camera to learn manual settings on and tune my photography skills. However, by December (the first day of a vacation no less) it stopped reading the memory card and I will be in the middle of taking a...

Superb Optical Zoom - Poor Sensor

5.0
Verdict: sensor being small compared to zoom size, good for amateur. if you are willing to 10k more you may end up apc or fullframe... which will give finer printing photos... the optical zoom is extraordinarily superb for novice like me. Pros: Superb Optical Zoom Cons: Sensor size is small.

Good camera

2.0
Verdict: So I'm not an advanced photographer at all but I have loved using this camera as a step up into taking nicer photos. This camera is easy to use and easy to figure out. The book that comes with it leaves something to be desired but you can basically figure out all of the functions of your camera...

I love this camera...

4.0
Verdict: I have always liked Sony cameras and have purchased five through the years at Walmart. I've never had a "bad" one, but they just keep getting better. The lens is fantastic and 63x zoom is beyond great.

Sony DSC-H400

5.0
Pros: I like the zooming and picture bright
Cons: I dislike it because it doesn't have the croping feature. I think that all camera should have it. If the zooming isn't this good I wouldnt but it. I wish the features should be more like the Kodak digital one that you could crop the original picture in to any size you wanted and still have the...
Verdict: Look beautiful, really like the zoom. I could take a good picture of the moo and the very far away building and make it look like I'm standing somewhere close to it. I also like the filming I videoed the firework the other night.

Some good--some not so good

3.0
Verdict: On my twice daily walks with my dog, I shoot about 30 nature pictures each day--mostly birds, odd plants, flowers, and other wildlife. To do this, I needed the greatest zoom possible, and the Sony DSC H400, with its 63x zoom seemed to fulfill my needs.

VERY POOR

3.0
Verdict: I purchased this for the zoom factor and price as it was cheaper than the Canon sx50. HOwever after using it for a couple of days I returned it and changed to the canon. The picture quality was awful, murky and grey and full zoom was blurred.
